At the BNSF Locomotive Repair Shop in Lincoln, Nebraska, the Mr. Eats-It Hydrocarbon Microbial Cleaning Product was instrumental in a recent pit restoration project. Utility Maintenance Contractors, based in Wichita, Kansas, led the surface preparation process, targeting the removal of embedded dirt, oils, and fuel residues.

Mr. Eats-It was spray-applied, thoroughly scrubbed in, and allowed to dwell for two hours to ensure deep microbial action within the concrete pores. The surface was then rinsed clean with water and allowed to dry. It was then ready for the application of the non-slip coating.

This thorough cleaning process ensured excellent adhesion of the final coating. The sequence—from the original pit condition to test areas, cleaned surfaces, and the fully coated pit—is illustrated in the photos below.
